What's so nice about this house?

B&B Candelária is a beautiful and romantic place situated on a hill in the welcoming village of Monte Seco, in the countryside surrounded by olive-, almond- and carob trees .... so beautiful in all seasons.

This renovated traditional Portugese house has on the ground floor 5 fine cozy guest rooms all with beautiful private bathroom with shower, toilet, washbasin and hairdryer. Candelária has upstairs a spacious fully fitted communal kitchen (you can prepare here your own meals), in this kitchen is a fridge filled with soft drinks, beer and wine, you can also store your own drinks. For winter there is a wood burning stove.

The kitchen has patio doors to the roof terrace with beautiful views over the valley, where you can relax in the hammock or a sun lounger. There is an extensive breakfast served on a mixture of floral tableware.

To the front of the house is a garden with a big terrace with sun loungers, fruit trees that provide shade, an outdoor shower which can provide for a nice refreshment and a small playground for the children where they can play freely.

For beach lovers it is a pleasure to return after a day at the beach in a quiet area and enjoy a glass of wine or a good book on one of the terraces.

It is decorated with so much taste, everything has a story. The passion of Wil is collecting old furniture for that than to renovate and Holy pictures and images. Some guests bring something of themselves, found in the attic, what really fit in the house.

What does breakfast look like?

Nice and slow wake up...

In the morning you get delicious fresh bread rolls and homemade whole wheat bread, a fresh orange juice, coffee and tea, cheese, ham and homemade jam. Every day a little different, so if you stay longer it never gets boring. You can enjoy breakfast at the table in the morning sun on the roof terrace or in the living kitchen.

My tips (just a few)

Bring your walking shoes, because from the house starts  several hiking trails that take you deeper into nature. Places where no one comes and it is so quiet that you can hear the buzzing flies and hear the wind rustling through the trees.

A day at the beach! Go to the nearest beach, Praia da Falésia. This beach takes its name from the fascinating gouged red cliffs that form a background to the endless stretch of sand. The beach stretches from Vilamoura to Olhos d ' Água ... on one side; the beautiful blue ocean ... on the other; gorgeous photogenic cliffs topped with pine trees ... and in the middle; a paradise sandy beach. Falésia is one of the most iconic beaches of the Algarve and it is one of the most beautiful in Portugal ... so not of Europe.

Go on Saturday to Loulé, the gypsy market and the traditional market in the center where farmers sell their own fruit and vegetables, visit the old town with its trendy shops, art galleries, museums, nice restaurants and cafes.
